Christmas Carols 2019

Christmas time is such an important time of the year but also renown for being one of the most difficult time of the year recovering addicts face. It is tough for the residents to be away from their families and in treatment and we do as best we can to make it a magical and memorable time of the year.

While we spend weeks practicing for Christmas Carols each year, this year was particularly special as we did it as a community event at the front of Kampersrus. The street was closed off, lights were hung and off we went. There wa s fantastic turnout of locals who came to support us a to experience the Christmas vibe.

The evening was a great success. The band did amazing and the atmosphere was electric. The residents had a great deal of fun and felt apart of something bigger. They felt apart of society and got to experience Christmas as it is meant to be experienced.

We hope that this will become an annual community event and that it will grow each year. We did something else that was very special after Christmas Day and that was to take ALL the resident up the mountain to camp for three days. It was such fun and definitely the best way to end a year and get prepared for a new one.
